The variety is a historical local type over 200 years old, originating from the city of Vaasa. In its youth, the tree grows upright, but over the years its branches take on a drooping shape. The variety is completely self-fertile and has good winter hardiness, corresponding to northern climatic zones.

The fruits are round in shape and have a blue-violet color. The taste is described as sweet-spicy and aromatic, with a slight acidity. The produce is suitable both for fresh consumption and for processing into jam.
