The variety is a clone of the Hungarian variety «Besztercei». The fruits have an oblong shape, a violet-blue color, a low content of titratable acids (about 0.2%), and a stone-to-fruit ratio of about 6%. The plant is characterized by high self-fertility, which allows its use for the establishment of single-variety commercial orchards.
The variety is susceptible to viral diseases, in particular Plum pox virus (PPV) and Cherry virus A. In scientific practice, thermotherapy and in vitro chemotherapy methods are used to obtain healthy planting material. The genetic material of the variety is used for breeding new varieties resistant to pathogens.
