The variety was obtained by open pollination of the 'Duke of Edinburgh' variety. The tree has an oval crown shape. Fruit ripening occurs in mid-August. 'Suhkruploom' and 'Queen Victoria' are recommended as the best pollinators for the variety.
The fruits are large, oval, covered with greenish-yellow skin with a brownish-red blush. The flesh is yellow, soft, with a sweet-and-sour taste; the stone separates partially. The variety is intended for fresh consumption.
The winter hardiness of the variety is assessed as weak, therefore, warm planting sites are preferred. Disease resistance is medium.
