The tree reaches a height of up to 10 meters, possesses low vigor and a sparse upright crown. The leaves are elliptical in shape, green in color, and have medium gloss. The flowers are large, with elliptical petals of a greenish hue.
The fruits are dark blue, and the stone is narrowly elliptical in cross-section and ventral view. The variety exhibits frost resistance down to -30°C and requires a pollinator variety.
Being an autochthonous Croatian variety, Motičanka is widely used in regional processing, including the production of the traditional plum brandy "Slavonska šljivovica".
