The Reeves tree is characterized as moderately vigorous or vigorous, reaching a height of about 4 meters. Fruits are large, round, with skin ranging from purple-red to red-orange, covered with a waxy bloom. The fruit flesh is light yellow, juicy, and firm, becoming soft upon ripening; the pit separates easily.

Mid-season variety, harvested from mid-August to early September. Reeves is a self-incompatible variety requiring pollinators such as Victoria, Opal, Jubilee, Edwards, or Valor. The variety is for universal use, suitable for fresh consumption and culinary processing.
