The variety is a traditional local cultivar grown in the hilly areas around Turin and Chieri. The variety is not the result of modern breeding and belongs to the category of landrace crops historically associated with the Piedmont region.
The variety name literally means "August Ramassin," which defines the fruit ripening period. Plums of this group are traditionally used for fresh consumption and can also undergo industrial sorting and packaging.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
