The variety is native to the hilly area of Piedmont, in particular the province of Turin. It belongs to early-maturing varieties, with harvest occurring in the third decade of June.
The fruits are small, weighing about 10–15 g, and have an ellipsoidal shape. The skin is yellow with a red-violet marbled pattern, and the flesh is light orange with a delicate, melting texture.
