The Vangenheimo vengrinė variety is primarily used in professional horticulture as a seed rootstock. Its use reduces tree vigor by approximately 40% compared to cherry plum seedlings, making the trees more compact and increasing their productivity.
Saplings on this rootstock have a shallow root system, which is why they require fertile soils and supports at a young age. The variety possesses sufficient winter hardiness and is undemanding regarding growing conditions.
Trees are self-fertile and compatible for cross-pollination with other varieties. The blue-colored fruits have an average size of about 20 g and a good taste; the pit separates easily, which makes the variety suitable for processing.
