The variety is traditional for Sardinia and is included in regional genetic resource collections. Its fruits are used primarily for the production of confectionery typical of the island.

The plant belongs to the group with an early-mid flowering period and is characterized by low to medium yield. The variety is self-incompatible, while being distinguished by a very high kernel yield from the nut and a moderate presence of double kernels.

In scientific research, this variety stands out as one of the few Sardinian samples that is comparable in its characteristics to American almond varieties.
