The Falsa Catuccia variety, also known as Catuccedda, is a local genetic resource that differs from the Catuccia variety in fruit size and endocarp characteristics. The variety matures in the second ten-day period of September and demonstrates medium productivity, amounting to approximately 2.6–2.9 kg of seeds per plant.

The fruits have a rounded shape with a thick endocarp that has a small number of pores and a frequently cracked ventral suture. The kernels are of medium-small size, elliptical shape, and have wrinkled brown skin. The variety is predominantly used in scientific research for the assessment of biodiversity.
