The name derives from the geographical location of the orchards on the island of Fejø. It is not a breeding variety, but trees that have successfully acclimatized to northern conditions, presumably having been introduced from Germany.
The trees produce sweet almonds. The plants are capable of flowering in late February during mild winters and producing a crop under the conditions of a rainy Danish summer. Official agronomic characteristics, including data on yield and disease resistance, are unavailable for them.
