ActivePrunus dulcis (Mill.) D. A. Webb · Almond
Pedro Martinez Gomez, Encarnacion Ortega Pastor, Federico Dicenta Lopez-Higuera, Jose Egea Caballero,
10 August 2026
The tree has medium growth vigor, with a canopy shape varying from spreading to upright. The variety is characterized by late flowering; however, in cold regions, mass abscission of flower buds is possible during the swelling stage.
The fruits have a hard shell. The kernel is small, weighing about 1.1 g, oval in shape, light-colored, and with a smooth surface.
The variety is self-incompatible and shares the same S1S3 genotype as the Ferragnès variety, making them incompatible for cross-pollination. The plant shows high susceptibility to Dothiorella amygdali shoot blight.
