The Pepparudda variety is a local form selected during the study of genetic diversity of almond in Italy. The tree is characterized as self-compatible, which eliminates the need for planting pollinators in orchards.
The variety is distinguished by high and stable yields. The kernel output is 25–30%, with a double seed percentage reaching 5–6%. Research notes good pollen viability (about 70.7%) and the use of the variety in experiments studying resistance to the bacterium Xylella fastidiosa.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
