The Palatina tree reaches a height of 2 to 7 meters and has a wide spreading crown. Flowering begins in March or April, and the fruit ripening period falls between late September and mid-October.
The fruits are sweet nuts with a soft shell and a mild taste. The variety is self-fertile, which allows for harvest when planted singly, although cross-pollination increases productivity. During the flowering period, the tree is sensitive to spring frosts.
The variety possesses high disease resistance and frost resistance down to -25 °C. The crop finds application as a fruit plant for culinary and cosmetic purposes, as well as an ornamental tree due to its flowering.
