The rootstock was selected during a breeding program to search for and improve local forms of Mahaleb cherry. In terms of growth vigor, it is comparable to the SL 64 rootstock, while demonstrating better resistance to early autumn frosts.

The plant is used in intensive orchards, as it promotes good branching of seedlings in the nursery. Propagation is carried out vegetatively, including the use of hardwood or softwood cuttings, as well as micropropagation.
