The MH-KL-1 variety is a clonal rootstock selected from seedlings of wild Mahaleb cherry. Stooling beds of this variety are distinguished by high productivity and produce larger fruits compared to common forms of the species.

This rootstock is intended for growing semi-standard and standard sweet and sour cherry trees. It possesses high resistance to diseases and good adaptability to diverse soil conditions, including light dry substrates and soils with excessive moisture.
