The variety is a breeding genotype of Mahaleb cherry (Prunus mahaleb) propagated by seeds. Trees grafted onto this rootstock are characterized by vigorous growth and good anchorage in the soil, which makes them suitable for mechanized harvesting. The rootstock has good compatibility with most sweet and sour cherry varieties.

The plant has an early to medium-late flowering period and is self-incompatible; therefore, it requires a pollinator for seed propagation. The variety shows high resistance to drought conditions and tolerates calcareous and alkaline soils. In nurseries, it shows good resistance to major pathogens, although cases of aphid infestation and leaf spot may occur.
