The Reginella I and Reginella II varieties are historically widespread in the provinces of Rome and Viterbo. In literature, the fruits are often referred to as Pesca Uovo due to their characteristic shape. Traditionally, the variety was used in local gardening for family consumption and sale at local markets.
The plants belong to mid-season or late varieties that ripen sequentially. The harvest ripens in early July. These varieties have been registered as genetic resources of agricultural importance, retaining adaptability to the climate of the Lazio region.
