The Gi 1592 rootstock is an interspecific hybrid. It is used in intensive fruit growing, providing trees with a height of 60–70% of the standard. The rootstock is characterized by good anchorage, which allows it to be used in regions with strong winds and high precipitation.
The plant has good compatibility with most sweet cherry varieties and adaptability to various soil types. The onset of fruiting in trees using this rootstock occurs 3–4 years after planting. Gi 1592 is considered an alternative to Gisela 5 and Gisela 6 rootstocks.
