The rootstock was obtained as a result of hybridization of the species Prunus cerasus and Prunus canescens. Trees grafted onto this rootstock reach approximately 40–50% of the height of trees on seed rootstocks, possess winter hardiness, and do not produce root suckers.
The plant prefers deep, fertile, and well-moistened soils. It is not recommended to use the rootstock on heavy clay soils, areas with a high water table, or in regions with a hot climate. Susceptibility to the pathogens Pseudomonas, Phytophtora, and Armillaria is noted.
The use of this rootstock contributes to the improvement of fruit size and quality. In cases of excessive yield, tree overload is possible, which leads to a reduction in fruit size; therefore, in such cases, thinning pruning is required.
