The rootstock is a triploid hybrid that provides the tree with approximately 25% of the size of a standard Mazzard rootstock. Plants grafted onto this rootstock require mandatory staking due to weak anchorage and a poor ability to secure themselves in the soil.

This object is sensitive to a number of viral diseases, including Prunus necrotic ringspot virus and Plum dwarf virus, which are transmitted via pollen. It is used exclusively as a dwarf rootstock for crops of the Prunus family.
