Variety description

10 August 2026

The Hamyra rootstock is a vegetatively propagated form of cherry plum. Botanically, the plant is classified as Prunus cerasifera and is not a plum variety intended for the production of edible fruit.

In agronomic studies, this rootstock is characterized as dwarf, although in some climatic conditions, in particular in Belarus, it has shown signs of vigorous growth. Trials in a number of European countries have shown that when it is used, the onset of fruiting of grafted varieties may occur later than the second year after planting.

Hamyra is used as a rootstock for European plum and diploid plums, demonstrating productivity indicators comparable to other common clonal and seed rootstocks.
