The variety is of Italian origin from the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. The tree has high vigor and forms an open-type crown. The variety is characterized by early flowering and low yield.

The fruits belong to the 'Martin-simili' group, sharing common features of shape, size, and ripening time with the Martin Sec variety. Currently, the variety is being studied as part of the conservation of biodiversity and the cultural heritage of forgotten fruits.
