The tree is characterized as vigorous, forming a large pyramidal crown. The variety possesses high yield and good winter hardiness, while developing well when grown on pear rootstock. Historically, it was often recommended for cultivation in espalier.
The fruit are large, oblong-pyriform or obtuse-turbinate in shape, often asymmetrical. The skin of the fruit is densely covered with russeting, through which the base yellow color is faintly visible. The flesh is white, of semi-fine texture; the variety belongs to the dessert category.
