Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is very old; historical records date back to the 16th century, with a theory of it being brought to Germany as early as Ancient Roman times. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and a pyramidal crown shape.

The fruits are pear-shaped with smooth skin, light green in color, turning light yellow upon ripening, sometimes with a carmine-red blush. The stalk is thick and fleshy.

The flesh is yellowish-white, juicy, slightly granular, and sweet when fully ripe. When overripe, the flesh quickly becomes mealy. The variety is of early autumn maturity; the fruits ripen unevenly from late August to early September.
