This cultivar is not a widely distributed commercial variety. It is used in research programs to analyze the influence of a dominant gene on tree architecture, flowering time, and the coloration of fruit skin and leaves.

The variety is mentioned among other red pear mutants selected in the USA in the mid-20th century. Specific agronomic characteristics, such as maturity group, plant height, or disease resistance, are absent in open publications.
