The Ruzza variety is a local Italian landrace, distributed predominantly in the Umbria region. Trees of this variety are characterized by longevity, reaching an age of 80–100 years and large sizes.
Fruits ripen at the end of October. They have a small round shape and a surface covered with russeting. The flesh of the fruits is sweet, acidic, aromatic, and crisp. The fruits require long ripening or thermal processing before consumption.
