Sant'Anna is a traditional Italian variety belonging to the Pyrus communis species. The variety is considered an old local germplasm and is distributed mainly in Italy, particularly in Sicily. The variety received its name in honor of Saint Anne's Day, which falls on July 26, coinciding with the fruit ripening period.
The fruits of the variety are of medium or small-to-medium size. The skin of the fruits is yellow; a slight red blush may appear on the surface when exposed to sunlight. The fruit pulp has a sweet taste.
