The variety is a variegated form of pear that originated in Switzerland. The medium-sized fruits have a broad pear shape; their skin is green with longitudinal yellow or reddish stripes. The fruit flesh is white, tender, buttery, and juicy, with a sweet taste and a light aroma.

The tree is characterized by moderate or low vigor and a tendency toward alternate bearing. The variety is suitable for training as a pyramid or espalier and requires sunny sites protected from the wind. Harvest takes place from the second half of September to mid-October; the fruits are suitable for storage until January.
