ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN

The Scipiona variety is an ancient local pear variety that is not the result of modern breeding. In traditional farming, the variety is considered universal; its fruits were used for making preserves and jams, and the trees themselves were often planted as hedges.
The plant belongs to late-maturing varieties. It possesses natural resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses characteristic of local forms; however, detailed morphological descriptions of the tree and fruits, as well as quantitative indicators of yield and product quality, are absent in publications.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
