The variety was obtained by crossing the varieties Uvedale's St. Germain and Williams. The tree is medium-sized; when grafted onto quince, it may show signs of dwarfing and often requires an interstock due to poor compatibility. The variety is characterized by regular bearing.
Harvest maturity of the fruits occurs in September-October, and consumption maturity in November-December. The fruit surface is often knobby, the skin is smooth, and changes color from greenish-yellow to lighter upon ripening. The flesh is white or cream, juicy, with a delicate aroma.
The variety is for universal use; the fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and various types of processing, including canning and drying, as they retain their shape. Data on disease resistance and winter hardiness may vary in sources.
