CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The tree is of medium vigor and forms a pyramidal crown with a pronounced apical dominance, which requires specific pruning. The variety enters bearing in the 2nd–3rd year when using suitable rootstocks. When grafted onto quince, the variety shows incompatibility, therefore requiring the use of an interstock.
Large fruits weighing 200–300 g have a characteristic long, tapering neck. The skin has a golden-brown hue and is often covered in russeting. The flesh is dense, fine-grained, and juicy, with an intense sweet aroma and spicy notes. The variety has moderate susceptibility to scab and fire blight.
Harvesting occurs in the second half of September. Due to the dense structure of the flesh, in addition to fresh consumption, the fruits are suitable for baking, boiling, and canning.
