The Tristan variety was developed within the framework of the 'Pillnitz varieties' program and included in the registries of the German Fruit Gene Bank. It belongs to the breeding achievements developed at the Institute of Fruit Research in Dresden-Pillnitz.

The fruits of this variety are small in size and characterized by good coloration. The variety is distinguished by an extremely early ripening period. Detailed agronomic characteristics, such as plant height or disease resistance, are not presented in available sources.
