This term translates as wild pear seedling and denotes a generatively propagated rootstock widely used in Hungary. Such trees are characterized by vigorous growth reaching a height of 8–12 meters, high longevity, as well as pronounced drought and frost tolerance.
Plants on this rootstock are distinguished by good compatibility with various pear varieties, however, they enter the fruiting period relatively late, usually in the 8–10th year after planting. The term does not describe fruit characteristics, as it refers to the root system onto which the scion is grafted.
