The pear variety Verdi is known primarily as genetic material for breeding programs. It was used by specialists at the Agroscope institute in the development of the Swiss variety Fred by crossing with the variety Harrow Sweet.

In agronomic studies, this variety is mentioned as late-maturing. During cultivation, incompatibility with certain rootstocks is observed, particularly with quince, which requires the use of an interstock.

Detailed morphological characteristics and a full agronomic assessment of the variety as an independent commercial crop are not sufficiently presented in open scientific publications.
