The term Sjemenjak kruške translates as pear seedling and denotes a rootstock form obtained by seed propagation. Plants of this type are used in horticulture exclusively as a base for grafting cultivated pear varieties.
Trees on such rootstock are characterized by high vigor and longevity. They adapt well to soils with a lime content of up to 5%, but tolerate heavy, waterlogged clay soils poorly. The wild pear seedlings themselves usually produce small, largely inedible fruits, so their economic value is determined by the grafted variety.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
