The variety Wladyslaw Lokietek (trade name Royal Rosy) is a Yakushimanum hybrid obtained by crossing the varieties Hellikki and Koichiro Wada. The shrub is distinguished by a dense, dome-shaped habit and a slow growth rate, reaching a height of 80–100 cm at ten years of age.
Dark green matte leaves have silvery pubescence on young shoots and a soft brown indumentum on the underside. Intensely pink flowers with a lighter throat and dark spotting often have wavy edges. The plant is characterized by abundant flowering in May and high winter hardiness, withstanding temperature drops down to –30 °C.
