Variety description

The variety is a shrub with a compact, dense, and upright crown, reaching a height of 1.0–1.2 m at the age of 10 years. Leaves are leathery, elongated, dark green in color, up to 12 cm long. Shoots are thick, dark brown.

Flowers are intensely red, large, bell-shaped, gathered in large spherical inflorescences. Flowering occurs in the second half of May. The plant possesses high winter hardiness, withstanding temperature drops down to -30°C.

Cultivation requires semi-shaded areas with acidic humus soils (pH 3.5–4.5) with moderate moisture. The variety is intended for single and group landscape plantings.
