The variety is a hybrid ('Konsonanz' × 'Bluebell'). It is a vigorous evergreen shrub reaching 1.6 m in height and 1.4 m in width by the age of ten. The leaves are dark green, glossy.
Flowers up to 12 cm in diameter are gathered in dense spherical inflorescences. The petals are dark purple-pink with a lighter center and a distinct dark red blotch; they possess a light fragrance.
Flowering begins from mid-May and can last for more than three weeks. The variety is winter hardy down to -24 °C, resistant to sun exposure, heat, and drought.
