The plant reaches a height of 0.5–1.0 meters by the age of ten. Leaves are dark green, oval-shaped. Flowers with a diameter of 6–7 cm abundantly cover the shrub during the flowering period, which lasts 3–4 weeks from late April to June.
The variety has winter hardiness down to -20 °C (USDA zone 6b). Prefers partial shade and acidic soils; requires regular watering during the summer period. Used for solitary and group plantings, creating borders, and container cultivation.
