The variety "Vetla" was selected within the breeding program of the Czech research institute VÚKOZ as a result of multi-year field trials among many genotypes.
This clone is intended for the establishment of energy plantations. The productivity of the variety is estimated as comparable to other foreign willow and poplar varieties used for biomass production. Mother plantations of the variety undergo regular phytosanitary monitoring.
