The Zieverich variety is a selection of basket willow, characterized by pronounced multi-stemmed growth and the ability for rapid regrowth after cutting. The plant possesses high tolerance to rust infection and maintains a stable number of shoots over several years of cultivation.

The use of the variety is effective both for traditional purposes and within short-rotation plantations for biomass production. The variety shows significant growth rates in a three-year rotation cycle, providing an optimal combination of shoot base diameter and quantity.
