The variety was obtained as a result of breeding work at the Priekuļi Plant Breeding Institute. Its creation involved crossing the varieties «Picaso» and «Zarevo».
This variety is a table potato and is oriented toward local market consumption. During the breeding process, special attention was paid to yield, suitability for processing, and resistance to late blight (Phytophthora infestans) and potato cyst nematode (Globodera rostochiensis).
