The variety is very early-maturing; heading occurs simultaneously with late winter barley varieties, which allows the plants to avoid the effects of summer heat and drought. The high yield potential of the variety reaches 9–10 t/ha.
The grain belongs to a high-quality milling type with a thousand kernel weight of 38–42 g, gluten content of 27–30%, and a falling number of 240–300. Farinograph indicators correspond to the B1–A2 group. The variety possesses excellent winter hardiness and is often used in studies of responses to environmental stress.
