The Stava variety is a winter soft wheat. In agricultural research, it most often serves as a control sample or an object for studying genetic characteristics.

The plant possesses marked resistance to common bunt due to the presence of Bt9 and Bt10 genes. The variety is also characterized by high resistance to Fusarium head blight.
