The variety is a plant 75–80 cm tall with a short pyramidal ear of medium density. It belongs to the melanopus variety and is distinguished by the presence of long black awns.

The variety has resistance to lodging and shattering, but is susceptible to loose smut and highly susceptible to root rots. The drought tolerance of the variety is estimated as medium.

The grain is characterized by a high protein content of 13 to 18 percent and high technological qualities, which allows it to be used for processing into pasta.
