The variety is the result of the French INRAE-ResDur breeding program, aimed at preserving the qualities of Vitis vinifera while introducing resistance genes from American and Asian species. Wines from this variety possess a neutral taste, high acidity, and intense color.

The plant has a moderately vigorous semi-upright vine with medium-sized, pentagonal leaves. Bunches are medium, moderately dense or loose, and berries are broadly elliptical. The variety is classified as early: budburst occurs 3 days after Chasselas, and maturity is reached 2 weeks after it.

The variety carries genetic loci for resistance to fungal diseases, such as Run1, Ren3, Ren9, Rpv1 and Rpv10. To maintain protection under high infection pressure, it is recommended to perform at least two fungicidal treatments.
