The variety is the product of a natural cross between Pinot and Gouais blanc. The plant has moderate vigor and hermaphroditic flowers, which ensures self-pollination. Morphologically, the variety is distinguished by pentagonal, deeply incised five-lobed leaves.

The variety is characterized as resistant to major grapevine diseases. Currently, it is considered rare, preserved primarily in the Lorraine region, France. Wines produced from this variety possess a fresh aroma of green apple, pear, and citrus.
