The Aubin vert variety originates from northeastern France. Genetically, it is related to Chardonnay, Aligoté, Gamay, and Melon. The first mentions of the variety date back to 1722.

The grape belongs to wine varieties of early maturity and is characterized by high yield. The variety does not possess particular susceptibility to typical grapevine diseases.

The production of the variety consists of simple white wines with low alcohol content and high acidity, intended for consumption at a young age. Currently, the variety is considered rare or endangered.
