The variety belongs to local Bulgarian cultivars historically used for fresh consumption and winemaking. The name “fox tail” is due to the morphology of the clusters, which have a characteristic long cylindrical shape.

A number of forms, including the red variation, are characterized by a functionally female flower type, which requires the presence of pollinator varieties for crop formation. The plant is characterized by low resistance to fungal diseases and adverse weather conditions, which has made the variety rare.
